Star Wars: The Force Awakens officially crosses $1billion mark

It reached $1B mark faster than any film in history and scored the biggest Christmas weekend ever at North American box office

#2 was Daddy's Home with Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell. It was one of the biggest Christmas openings of all time with $38.8 million.

#3 - Joy: $17.5 million from 2,896 theaters.

Concussion opened at #6, behind Sisters and Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip, with $11 million. That's the lowest wide opening of Will Smith's career.

The Hateful Eight did pretty well in its exclusive 70mm roadshow, grossing $4.5 million from 100 theaters.

The Revenant grossed $471,000 million from 4 theaters in NY and LA (an average of $117,750), the second-best showing of the year to date.
