Halsey's high school friend urges @Halsey to return a sweatshirt she borrowed five years ago

Halsey's high school friend Allison Coopersmith has taken to social media in an effort to get back a periwinkle sweatshirt she alleges Halsey borrowed from her but never returned. Allison claims that she let Halsey borrow the periwinkle sweatshirt on a chilly summer night 5 years ago when they were both 16. On the night of the alleged borrowing, Halsey and Allison had gone out to buy cigarettes when Halsey asked Allison to borrow a sweatershirt since she felt cold. Allison let Halsey borrow her size medium periwinkle sweatershirt that she got from the pool company she worked for, like any good friend would. Later that night, they gathered around a bonfire at Allison's house because of the cold weather.

Allison started the hashtag #ReturnTheSweatshirtHalsey in an effort to get back her size medium periwinkle sweatshirt from Halsey, but Halsey's deranged fans quickly tried to silence her by attacking and discrediting Allison, saying that she was lying about the whole thing. Allison posted on Instagram, saying that the sweatshirt belongs to her since she wears size medium clothing while Halsey is smaller than her, providing proof by showing a picture of Halsey wearing a sweatshirt that is a size too big for her.

Some people have been spreading VICIOUS rumors that the sweatshirt was actually Halsey's and I just made the whole thing up. I wish to defend my honor, so I'd like to turn to the evidence.

1. This sweatshirt is WAY too big for her. It's almost at her knees. It seems IMPLAUSIBLE that she would buy such a big sweatshirt--why wouldn't she just get it in the proper size? Halsey is an extra small, and this sweatshirt is a medium, for christ's sake

2. I am MUCH LARGER than Halsey. As a matter of fact, I am a size medium--THE VERY SIZE OF THIS SWEATSHIRT. Which means that this sweatshirt would fit me PERFECTLY.

3. If you look carefully, you can see a logo embossed on the sweatshirt. The VERY SAME LOGO embossed on my t-shirt in another picture I posted with Ashley. That's because IT'S THE LOGO FOR THE POOL COMPANY I WORKED FOR.

Taking all the evidence into account, it seems likely that I got this sweatshirt from work and loaned it to Halsey. It does not seem plausible that she bought a very large sweatshirt from a company that she did not work for. Thank you for tuning in while I solved this mystery.

JUST A PICTURE OF ME AND HALSEY FROM THE SUMMER SHE BORROWED MY SWEATSHIRT AND NEVER GAVE IT BACK #ReturnTheSweatshirtHalsey @iamhalsey

Just another picture from the summer @iamhalsey borrowed my sweatshirt and never gave it back. If you don't have it anymore, you can just reimburse me for the cost of it. #ReturnTheSweatshirtHalsey

Hey @iamhalsey. Do you remember this night? You came over to my house to make a bonfire but it was a little chilly so you borrowed my sweatshirt. It's periwinkle. You're wearing it in this picture. Anyway, that was five years ago and I still haven't gotten it back. What's going on with it? #ReturnTheSweatshirtHalsey

Hey @iamhalsey do you remember this day? We walked to lukoil to buy cigarettes. It was summer but unseasonably cold, just like it was the day you borrowed my sweatshirt and never gave it back. #ReturnTheSweatshirtHalsey

I'm fine with #ReturnTheSweatshirtHalsey dying as long as it develops into #BuyAllisonANewSweatshirt

Pressure is mounting, @iamhalsey. Your fans demand answers: what has become of my sweatshirt?

I need to stop egging this on because some of you are getting really mad at me, but the whole thing is so fun. 10/10, would create a hashtag campaign again

Just doing my laundry, wishing my periwinkle sweatshirt was in here #ReturnTheSweatshirtHalsey

@iamhalsey I was red, and I liked my sweatshirt because it was blue. But you borrowed it and suddenly I was a sweatshirt-less sky, and you decided returning things just wasn't for you. #ReturnTheSweatshirtHalsey

How do I explain to my mother that I was laughing about a hashtag campaign I started to get a now-famous childhood friend to return a sweatshirt she borrowed from me when we were 16 #ReturnTheSweatshirtHalsey

Not sure how I got to a point where I'm cyber bullying tweens on Instagram, but it's not like I ever had a lot of control over my life anyway
