This week the budget is tightened even further, as the 'real woman' challenge gets a spin by using crew members from the show. They are assigned to the designers, and some are apprehensive as they've been seeing the designers' work every week. Should be a fun ride!
Two days for a challenge, and shopping at mood!
Right away we see that some of the designers are seemingly less interested in listening to what their clients want. Merline's girl doesn't want to look boxy, and thinks Merline uses too much shoulder drama. Swapnil's girl wants a day-to-night look, but he only has eyes for evening wear.
Ashley is worried about her girl wanting a look very similar to what she has produced so far, and what the judges will think. Kelly says she is going to make a 'maroon pleather overall' - I am nervous and very curious to see if she can pull this off. Edmond is making a raincoat, and Candice is making a (surprise, surprise) leather skirt.
During makeovers I cross my fingers and pray these girls will get a better look than the models normally do on the runway. But hey, if it doesn't work out, at least they will be behind the camera!
The story line of 'Swapnil is a lazy shit' continues this week, when he has almost nothing to present at the joint fitting/critique. Tim is over it, telling Swapnil his stance is a load of bullshit and asking, "what is the fucking point?" It was brutal. I loved it.
Merline's critique doesn't go well, when her client points out that she DID. NOT. WANT. A. JACKET. Candice's critique doesn't go well either, Tim calling it 'oatmeal'.
After critiques pretty much every designer makes a drastic change to their look. Who pulled it off?
Ashley Nell Tipton
WINNER - Kelly
OUT - Swapnil
Tim Gunn save was not used! He looked so stern as Swapnil left, no hugs or anything.
What are your thoughts ONTD? Also, for anyone that wants to see them, final collections are posted on Blogging Project Runway for all the designers up to tonight's 6.
