Rihanna says she feels like she is being "punished" for being a victim of domestic abuse. http://t.co/x8B5A6cVl9— BBC Newsbeat (@BBCNewsbeat) October 7, 2015
Rihanna's full Vanity Fair interview has been released and in it she talked about her domestic abuse case, why she went back to Chris, and her relationship with Chris Brown now.
On Her Police Photos Being Leaked: "Rihanna says it was done by 'a very nasty woman who thought a check was more important than morals. That shocks you? A cheque trumps morals by miles.'"
Why She Went Back To Chris: "I was that girl," she told Vanity Fair. "That girl who felt that as much pain as this relationship is, maybe some people are built stronger than others."
"Maybe I'm one of those people built to handle [stuff] like this. Maybe I'm the person who's almost the guardian angel to this person, to be there when they're not strong enough, when they're not understanding the world, when they just need someone to encourage them in a positive way and say the right thing."
"100%. I was very protective of him. I felt that people didn't understand him. Even after...You want the best for them, but if you remind them of their failures, or if you remind them of bad moments in their life, or even if you say, 'I'm willing to put up with something,' they think less of you because they know you don't deserve what they're going to give."
Admits that she's very guarded now: "I've had to be so conscious about people. What they say and why people want to be with me, why people want to sleep with me… It makes me very guarded and protective. I learned the hard way."
In the article Rihanna also spoke about her frustration about the NFL pulling her song after the Ray Rice domestic abuse case, confirmed that she does not have a relationship with Chris Brown now, and admits that she's lonely and uses work as a distraction.
This part of the article was really heartbreaking tbh. I hope this is the last interview where she's asked about this.
