This morning the official twitter for Good Morning America sent out the above tweet that included a gif from The Lion King of Simba trying to wake up a dead Mufasa. Needless to say people didn't take it very well since not only did this moment break us as children (and who am I kidding this still destroys me now) but a lot of people said the tweet comes off as comparing waking up on Monday mornings to the loss of a parent.
The tweet has since been deleted.
I'm surprised @GMA posted a GIF of Mufasa dying and then compared it to waking up on Mondays and things didn't go as planned. Hmm.— Ender (@AndrewKam) June 8, 2015
@GMA how can you soulless people even think about Beyonce after seeing this? Thankfully I didn't have to cuddle my dead father this Am— araev16 (@araev16) June 8, 2015
That time when @GMA tweeted GIF of lion cub crawling under his dead father's arm, compared it to the Monday Blahs, then deleted w/o comment.— Greg Wyshynski (@wyshynski) June 8, 2015
