WB's DC Cinematic Universe has found its Aquaman director in James Wan, who will also develop the film. Known for Furious 7, The Conjuring, and Saw, he's also closed a deal to direct Robotech, Sony's adaption of the 1980s mecha anime. Here's hoping the cast won't be whitewashed!
WB has also released its first plot description of Aquaman: "An icon for over 70 years, Aquaman is the King of the Seven Seas. This reluctant ruler of Atlantis, caught between a surface world constantly ravaging the sea and Atlanteans looking to lash out in revolt, is committed to protecting the entire globe."
Fun fact! The oil rig in Man of Steel was actually Merrevale Oil, a company that Aquaman has frequently clashed with in his comics.
And according to TheWrap's film reporter, Jeff Sneider, those whales we see swimming around an unconscious Clark as he sinks into the ocean, were actually the ones to lift him to the surface under Aquaman's command. And we may see this as a flashback in Batman v Superman. This can all be heard here.
