Oh Lorde, pray leaving your manager wasn't a mistake http://t.co/D8HI7MYA33— The Guardian (@guardian) May 19, 2015
- Lorde's now former manager Scott Maclachlan signed her to a development deal in 2008, paired her with several songwriters none of which worked for her. Eventually she met Joel Little and they clicked.
- Uses the Spice Girls, Duffy and Lady Gaga as examples of pop performers splitting from their managers and then flopping with their next album.
- Says Lorde will regret it because she'll now be surrounded by "yes" people who will only tell her what she wants to hear.
Lorde responded by saying:
hey, men - do me and yourselves a favour, and don't underestimate my skill— Lorde (@lordemusic) May 20, 2015
yes, i'm a young lass, but i'm also making the best decisions for me each day. #stayeducated 💅— Lorde (@lordemusic) May 20, 2015
Do you think she'll flop because she dropped her manager?
