Reggaeton star Don Omar was taken Wednesday to a police station on the outskirts of San Juan after officers responded to a domestic-violence complaint at the home he shares with his girlfriend, Puerto Rican authorities said.
William Omar Landron, 36, was cheered by other detainees when he was brought into the police station shackled and appearing unfazed.
Officers from the Domestic Violence Unit went to Don Omar's home in Vega Alta, west of San Juan, after midnight Tuesday after receiving a report that the singer threatened his 26-year-old girlfriend, whose identity was not disclosed.
Police took Don Omar into custody four hours later.
Authorities plan to interview the couple later Wednesday, a police source told Efe, declining to say who called the cops.
The girlfriend has previously accused Don Omar of domestic violence.
