It’s “show me” time.
Apple executives have spent the summer hyping up the company, intent on making us all believe that its magic touch has outlived Steve Jobs. Both chief executive Tim Cook and senior vice president Eddy Cue have talked about the Apple’s “best product pipeline” in 25 years. The New York Times has Apple design guru Jonathan Ive boasting that “Switzerland is in trouble” with Apple’s entry into the watch market. In case anyone missed the hint, Apple is holding Tuesday’s live event in the same venue where Jobs publicly unveiled the original Mac 30 years ago, the Flint Center at De Anza College in Cupertino, Calif. The message on its invite: “Wish we could say more.”
Smart watches, bigger iPhones, mobile payments, sapphire screens, new features in the updated operating systems for mobile devices and computers -- the rumor mill has been in overdrive for the past week.
