EA may bring The Sims 4 to other platforms

EA will "explore the possibility" of porting The Sims 4 to other platforms once the PC version has launched and is "playing well", producer Ryan Vaughan has said.

Speaking in this week's issue of MCV, Vaughan explained that while The Sims 4 is "only coming to PC at the moment... once we get it to the point when it launches in September and find that the game is playing well, we'll explore the possibility of it coming to other platforms."

While EA has yet to formally announce plans to bring The Sims 4 to other platforms, previous Sims title The Sims 3 made its way over to Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and 3DS 16 months after its original PC launch.

And while it wasn't quite the same fully-fledged experience as the PC original, it managed to make the jump to home console fairly well, landing on a Metacritic rating in the high 70s.

The Sims 4 launches on PC on September 5.
