A first kiss can often determine the entire trajectory of a relationship. So it's a good thing Jill Duggar enjoyed her first smooch ever with new husband Derick Dillard as they locked lips during their wedding ceremony on Saturday. The 19 Kids And Counting star says in a new interview that it was worth saving her first kiss, as her husband has a gift for the romantic art due to his talents on a certain musical instrument.
The 23-year-old told People magazine of the smooch, captured by photographers: 'He's a great kisser. All his trumpet playing paid off!'
What connection there is between kissing and trumpet playing is unclear, but Jill clearly believes there is one. For the romantic moment, the young bride was dipped backwards dramatically as her husband planted a smooch on her.
Speaking of his motivations for the gallant maneuver, Derick told People: 'I thought about it and decided to dip her.'
During the wedding ceremony, the ring bearers were armed with beautifully worn leather bound antique Bibles, provided by Jill's younger sister Jinger. The bride carried a bouquet featuring hydrangeas, mums, and roses with bear grass as she vowed to 'loyally love' Derick for the rest of her life.
