Lupita Nyong'o Compares Award Season To Being In A 'War Zone'

In a new interview with US Vogue magazine, the actress was asked about her time on the red carpet.
''Everyone said, 'Brace yourself, Lupita! Keep a granola bar in that clutch of yours!'” she explained. “I didn't really understand what they meant, and it was only once it was past that I realized that my body had been holding on by a thread to get through this very intense experience. Nothing can prepare you for awards season."
It seems that award season was so intense that she felt like she was in a war zone. Walking the red carpet was especially overwhelming for her.
“'The red carpet feels like a war zone, except you cannot fly or fight; you just have to stand there and take it,” she explained.
It wasn’t only on the red carpet that her life changed. She was also now being recognized everywhere she went.
''It just feels like the entertainment industry exploded into my life,” she revealed. “People who seemed so distant all of a sudden were right in front of me and recognizing me - before I recognized them!”
Lupita Nyong’o won an Academy Award for her role in 12 Years A Slave. Her next major project will be starring in Star Wars VII.

This quote is giving me Natalie vibes. Apology in 3, 2, 1...
Privileged celebrities do commonly use war and rape to complain about their rich people problems. It's not a common comparison to trivial things otherwise.
See class warfare, culture wars, mommy wars, war on christmas, etc.
