Cast confusion: 'Dancing With the Stars' celebs shocked by their own dance picks

DWTS Season 18 Cast

On Monday night, "Dancing With the Stars" surprised pros by announcing that the next dances they'd do with their partners were the ones the stars themselves were "most excited about doing." But as it turned out, the pros weren't the only ones surprised. The celebs found their own so-called picks shocking.
For "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star NeNe Leakes, her upcoming jive just isn't her idea of a ballroom boon.

"It’s not my favorite dance,” she shrugged to Today. “I said my husband wants me to do the jive. They gave me husband’s favorite dance!"

Actress Candace Cameron Bure and her pro partner Mark Ballas have been assigned the rumba, and she assured Today she "so didn’t say that” when talking about a favorite dance.

"That’s the dance that I fear the most!" she told us. "I really wanted to do the Viennese waltz, so I was shocked when they told us we were doing the rumba."

However, the former "Full House" star is looking on the bright side.

“We got a great song and Mark says it’s great to get the rumba out of the way, so it’s good," she said.

Candace also stayed positive on the supposed rivalry she had with fellow "DWTS" contestant and ex-child star Danica McKellar ("The Wonder Years") over the fact that they both dated fellow retro TV star Jeremy Miller ("Growing Pains").

"I was about 11 years old,” chuckled Candace, now a wife and mother of three. "I wasn’t even allowed to date until I was 16! Jeremy and I just liked each other. Danica and I are friends."

"I honestly did not know that Candace and Jeremy were 'dating' before (he and I started seeing each other),” Danica maintained.

"I do remember the (breakup) call from Jeremy,” a smiling Candace added. “But there are no hard feelings.”

As for the dance-floor rivalry (and those star "favorite" dances), see how it all plays out on the next episode of "Dancing With the Stars," next Monday at 8 p.m. on ABC.

I figured Candace didn't pick the rumba.
