Jane Goodall: "Michael Jackson’s Chimp Was Beaten"

World-famous great apes expert Jane Goodall told TMZ that the pet chimp was beaten and mistreated at Jackson’s ranch, and she blamed the late King of Pop for the abuse.

“When he was with Michael Jackson he was being beaten,” she said.

Goodall said she even confronted Jackson about Bubbles’ treatment, and it “ticked him off”.

“Chimpanzees belong in the forest and (making a pet out of) chimpanzees are one of the worst things you can possibly do,” Goodall said. “By the time you get to seven or eight they're dangerous.”

Bubbles is now living in Florida’s Centre for Great Apes animal sanctuary. He was removed from Jackson’s home after the singer’s first son Prince was born. Jackson famously adopted Bubbles in the 80s, and the chimp starred in music videos, toured with the singer and even reportedly slept in a crib in Jackson’s bedroom.

Goodall is not the first to allege the pet chimp was used as a punching bag.

LaToya Jackson’s ex-husband Jack Gordon claimed in the past that Jackson abused Bubbles, reports TMZ. “I saw Michael punch Bubbles, kick him in the stomach. Michael used to say ‘He doesn’t feel it. He’s a chimpanzee. I have to discipline him,” Gordon said.
