[Spoiler (click to open)]But, I think Fuller has previously said that Mason Verger will be introduced in episode 10? So that'd leave a big gap if "they solve it in episode five".
i'm hoping this week's killer wasn't hannibal. while watching the ep i just assumed it was hannibal and it felt kind of boring/just way too easy. also i wonder about this twitter status by fuller:
the stag = hannibal, obviously, but does this status imply that this scene referred to some other killer? it doesn't really seem different from the other nightmare stag scenes. does anyone know what he meant? still hoping it really is some mystery killa we haven't seen yet cos otherwise this ep just felt a bit overeasy and dull
I'm pretty sure I know who the Copycat Copycat is, so read at your own risk. [Spoiler (click to open)] the orderly from episode 1, who will be appearing again this season. He definitely did the first killing, not sure about the second one, that might have been Hannibal.
Yes to everything! Chilton is so extra, I'm just ugh every time he shows up.
I loved the lawyer. Especially when he just matter of factly said I must have opened your mail when the ear fell out. Cause you know, I just don't get ears in the mail.
I fucking love Freddie and her conniving hustle and Will's lawyer is amazing. This show is filled with characters discussing morals in a "posh" manner and Greek-ish philosophising, the new lawyer is such a great contrast because he uses the opposite route to reach the same goal.
Oh so I really need to rewatch season 1, but was Freddie telling boldfaced lies on the stand last night or did Abigail really say things like that to her?
I think she boldfaced lied. I remember her trying to turn Abigail against Will/the FBI earlier on; but then Freddie had that dinner with Hannibal, Will, and Abigail and it all seemed fine...?
I think Will's lawyer bringing up Freddie's past libel cases is the tip-off that she's lying, though.
iirc she never said anything like that (especially the cannibalism part) but i think she was a bit worried about will. i could be remembering it wrong though
Wellllll, Abigail said that Will is afraid to spend time with her, because Abigail makes him feel like her father, her father tried to kill her, so I can see Freddie twisting the truth a bit so it works for her.
So based on the AV Club article, anyone else thinking Will's admirer is [Spoiler (click to open)]Francis Dolarhyde? It would fit since Dolarhyde is Hannibal's admirer in Red Dragon and the copy-cat murders are Hannibal's work anyway.
ooooh that'd be interesting. didn't they say sometime last year that some of the murders we would see through the seasons would be the early work of [them]?
Will's first empath scene was their early work; Bryan Fuller confirmed this. (And it fits the pathology of shooting the victims first.) It'll be interesting if Fuller continues to use [them] throughout the series, leading up to [them]'s big storyline.
I need there to be some sort of split screen of every character when they realize who Hannibal really is and what he's been feeding them. Especially Freddie after court performance.
I remember, she just ate a salad. Hannibal is pretty creative, salad could be people. The dressing anyway. I mean her being so anti-Will from the start and what she said on the stand about him.
i think i'll cry if bev really dies. she's my fav character (plus i lowkey ship her with will) and i love hettienne. but sadly all signs point to her dying :(
Beverly is my favorite female character, but I've accepted for weeks now that she's a goner. I just hope she does some damage before she goes down, or that she somehow leaves some clue that helps them catch Hannibal later. Just don't let her die in vain!
And I don't even lowkey ship her with Will, I ship them as friends/OTP/friends with benefits, anything that gives me scenes with them together. I'm heartbroken.
Damn Hannibal
this whole sequence was amazing
Surprised Hannibal doesn't wax his chest, though. He seems to be the type.

BUT IF NOT HIM THEN WHO?
I can't think of anyone who makes sense.
- Will's lawyer or his second chair.
- As of yet unseen court reporter/stenographer.
- Someone from the prosecution table?

we were all waiting for it
HEEEEEEEELP
The look on their faces when Alana was denying any romantic feelings for Will! And then "I want to save you."
OTP
but he just looks so good in a suit! It's okay, he can die, because Raul wears plenty of more colorful suits on SVU.

Chilton need an entertaining death.
lmao they were both on top ham form in this ep. i always forget zeller and chilton are complete dicks cos i love their actors so much
I'm sad he's gonna die at some point coz I enjoy the fact that none of his patients respect him and he's so dramatic.
I did cringe when he said "arousing" tho, he's so sleazy

edit: omg i suck at de-spoilering

HM
That sounds plausible.
But isn't it a bit too soon to introduce him properly?
Either that or it's the creepy nurse from the asylum.
The promo for next week is crazy, finally Bev is helping Will but I think she'll be in trouble.
And I don't even lowkey ship her with Will, I ship them as friends/OTP/friends with benefits, anything that gives me scenes with them together. I'm heartbroken.
