William H. Macy slams One Direction: 'They couldn't put on a good show with a gun to their head'

Watch out for some irate 1Ders, William H. Macy!
"Shameless" star Macy, 63, appeared on "Live with Kelly and Michael" Thursday to promote the new season of his Showtime series, and brought up the beloved boy band while discussing his 13-year-old daughter Sophia. Macy had recently attended a One Direction concert and he had some harsh words for the group.
"I've been in showbiz all my life, so, let me just say, those guys can sing. They are very talented," Macy said, before tempering his praise. "They couldn't put on a good show with a gun to their head."
My daughter loved it," Macy continued. "And so did about 17,000 other kids.
"You want to see the choreography?" Macy asked, before striding purposely across the stage, poking fun at the band.
"Harry (Styles) ate a sandwich while two of his guys were singing," Macy continued. "I mean, call me old-fashioned, but when I'm downstage singing my heart out, you better not eat a sandwich behind me."
"They had on crappy jeans and a stupid T-shirt," he said. "And then they do a costume change in the middle of the show and they come out in different crappy jeans and a stupid T-shirt."
As Michael Strahan and Kelly Ripa chuckled, Macy paused. "I'm going to catch hell for this," he joked.
