With the first half of Season 4 of The Walking Dead down, and filming on the entire season complete as of earlier this month, the cast of the hit AMC drama is bound to have plenty of free time on their hands until Seasons 5 heads into production in Spring 2014.
Hardworking Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) for one is making the most of his downtime, and recently booked a fun new role on the FOX animated series, Axe Cop, which airs Saturday nights at 11 p.m. ET. Comicbook.com reports that Norman will be voicing a warden on the series, which was created by two brothers and is about a police officer who uses an axe during battle. Kinda like Daryl and his bow and arrow, no?
“Just did a voice on AXE COP!”, The Walking Dead actor tweeted right before Thanksgiving. And he’s not the only one pumped about the gig either. Axe Cop executive producer Nick Weldenfeld called Norman the “creepiest warden ever”, thus making us even more psyched for his debut.
As some of you die-hard Norman fans may know, this is hardly the 44-year-old’s first voice-only part. Earlier this year he was the voice of The Punisher in the Marvel animated movie Iron Man: Rise of Technovore. And even though this means we won’t get to see Norman’s face (or his biceps) we’re still thrilled that he’ll be making the most of his very well-deserved TWD hiatus.
