"I want to have tons of kids, actually. I think at least three," the "Applause" singer told SiriusXM listeners gathered Friday for a Town Hall discussion at SiriusXM studios in New York City.
"I really want to have a family and I really want to nurture my children," said the singer, who is gearing up for a performance in space.
"To be honest, having my own kids will be like having three little monsters with me all the time. They probably won't be fans," she added.
Gaga, 27, said her own tight-knit family fuels her maternal instincts.
"I grew up with a very strong family and I just cannot imagine not having a normal nuclear family," she said.
Gaga didn't say whether she plans to have kids with boyfriend Taylor Kinney, but she does make it clear she is committed enough to the relationship to make his adopted city of Chicago her home base. Kinney, 32, films Chicago Fire in the Windy City.
"I've been living a lot in Chicago mostly and I actually find Chicago to be really, really cool about me and what I do," she said.
Plus, even she can't resist their famous pizza.
"I love ordering Chicago pizza. My boyfriend caught me once eating it in the bathroom in the middle of the night," she confessed. "I woke up in the middle of the night ... and I walked it into the bathroom and I was eating it. And I heard the … door opening. I had the pizza in my mouth and he just shook his head at me and he was like, 'That is just shameful.'"
Jokes aside, these days, Gaga said she no longer stresses about every bite she takes.
"I've been eating whatever I want now," she said. "I used to give myself such a heart attack about every little thing. I had really bad eating disorders growing up. I think the Born This Way Ball really healed me."
"I just want to be happy," she added. "I really want to be happy. And I want my fans to be happy, too."
