on the giver:
"With a cast including Meryl Streep, Katie Holmes and Jeff Bridges, the superstar singer says she was blown away to be included in such a seasoned group.
“I couldn’t believe it was happening to me,” Taylor told Access Hollywood’s Michelle Beadle at the Keds showroom in New York City on Friday. “I still can’t believe I shot in South Africa and shot all my scenes with Jeff Bridges. It was unreal.
“Seriously, I couldn’t believe I got to be a part of the experience. And I just tried to work as hard as I could and just throw myself into that environment as much as I possibly could and it was really long hours and it was a lot of preparation and getting into character and all that,” Taylor, who is also a paid spokesperson for Keds, continued. “But it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Honestly.”
Though Taylor’s acted before (“Valentine’s Day,” “New Girl”), filming alongside Meryl and company took the experience to a new level.
“I learned so much,” she told Michelle. “It’s crazy how educational just getting into a situation and doing it [is].You learn so much more, because I have taken acting classes and read as much as I possibly can on it and done theater before all this started, [but] you learn more by actually doing it than you could ever learn in preparation.”
Despite her impressive new film role, Taylor will soon deliver new music and her album will be as personal as ever.
“What I go through is going to be the story that I tell,” she said. “I think lyrically I always try to tell my fans exactly what’s happened to me in the last two years and that’s thing they can expect.”
“The Giver” is slated to hit theaters on August 15, 2014."
some other interview:
ET’s Rocsi Diaz caught up with the Grammy-winning singer Friday in New York to discuss her latest footwear designs and to find out what drives her fascination with polka dots!
"All the things that I like to wear are pretty much incorporated in the fabric of the shoes," Taylor explained while showing off her new shoe styles. "I love to wear floral prints and lace prints and stripes and polka dots. All these things show up in the shoe line, so it’s really exciting.”
She goes on to explain that she still loves polka dots, especially during one part of the year. “In the summer I love polka dots, stripes, red lips, and then in the fall I like maroon, mustard, hunter green, navy blue, and kind of a smoky eye and nude lips.”
The music star’s Fall 2013 Keds collection consists of 17 styles in a new variety of prints, colors and finishes. From a pearl necklace polka dot print to a feminine lace overlay inspired by one of her favorite dresses, each shoe reflects a style statement unique to Taylor. Special charms are included with each shoe in one of two styles: a silver heart featuring Taylor’s favorite number 13, or a guitar pick in antiqued brass with her logo inscribed in the middle.

rolling stone's lengthy review of sweeter than fiction:
"Swift does a whirlwind tour of the prom scene in every John Hughes movie, crushing all their highlights into one Eighties-style synth-pop tune. Written for the soundtrack of the film One Chance, about an opera singer, it's her collaboration with fun.'s Jack Antonoff – who throws in a delightful guitar solo straight from Fleetwood Mac's "Gypsy."" x
