Since it was announced that Simon Cowell was expecting a child with his girlfriend Lauren Silverman he has become somewhat of a changed man.

And on Saturday the music mogul continued his transformation from Mr Nasty to Mr Nice Guy as he was spotted giving a $100 dollar bill to a homeless gentleman as he stopped at a set of traffic lights in his convertible Bentley.

Following his good deed of the day the father-to-be leaned in to passionately kiss his pregnant partner before the lights turned and he went on his way in Santa Monica.

The 53-year-old was approached as he pulled up at the red light by a gentleman carrying a cardboard sign which was asking for a spot of help.

Without much hesitation the hugely successful X Factor star reached into his pocket to pull out some money for the man in need.

His 36-year-old girlfriend was perhaps so moved by his gesture that she lent in to kiss him at what appeared to be the slowest lights ever.

Later that day, Simon, who recently discovered he was expecting a boy, had a bit of a training session as he cradled a stranger's baby and hand-fed candy to his pregnant girlfriend Lauren Silverman on Saturday.

The new couple were the picture of happiness as they enjoyed a romantic beachside date and stroll together in Santa Monica, California, cuddling and smooching for all to see.

They were always either hand-in-hand or arm-in-arm, but at one point Lauren opted for buttocks-in-hand and gripped her love's behind as they walked.

The X Factor judge and his girlfriend patiently greeted fans, shaking hands here and there, and at one point found themselves with quite the entourage in tow.

A gaggle of admirers walked in step with the famous pair, causing them both to lose themselves in fits of giggles.

Simon and Lauren appeared to be unable to get their hands off one another and shared an intimate moment in a public place, smooching in the car with the roof down as they drove off.

They no doubt appeared to be well and truly in love, but the talent show judge would surely be regretting a few pre-taped words of his that aired on X Factor this week.

During Thursday night's show, Simon verbally identified with a single man in his 40's who had never married because he had yet to meet the love of his life.

'I am single, I just haven't found the right girl yet,' the 45-year-old Neal Macomber told the judges before he auditioned on the TV show.

'OK,' replied Simon, smirking, before an audience of millions, adding: 'I know how you feel.'

'Hear that, ladies?' Demi Lovato replied, in a conversation that Simon surely did not anticipate would air soon after he announced he was expecting a baby.

The auditions took place before Cowell discovered he was expecting a baby with his friend's wife, Lauren Silverman - whom he is now said to be planning to wed.

And that was confirmed when producers hastily ran a scrolling banner across the screen, accompanied by a voiceover, that read: 'This performance was previously recorded. We are pleased to report that Mr Cowell has indeed found the right girl. Best of luck, Simon.'

Simon recently hinted that he will marry New York socialite Lauren, who is now divorced from ex, Andrew Silverman.
