Simon Cowell Won't be Leaving Fortune to Son

Music tycoon, Simon Cowell, is estimated to be worth £225 million. In good news for the world, he is considering leaving his fortune to charity, rather than the son he is expecting with girlfriend Lauren Silverman.

In an interview with Esquire magazine, Cowell said, ”I’m going to leave my money to somebody. A charity, probably kids and dogs.”

”I don’t believe in passing on from one generation to another,” he continued, “Your legacy has to be that hopefully you gave enough people an opportunity, so that they could do well, and you gave them your time, taught them what you know.”

Cowell has worked his way up from the bottom rungs of the music and TV industries, accumulating his fortune through several competition-based reality shows, including “American Idol”, “X Factor” and the “Got Talent” franchise.

Despite his success, he does not have plans to stop working anytime soon, adding, ”A lot of people who retire, they hate their job so much, they just love the idea of not working any more. That horrifies me. I’m going to be still working in my 80s or 90s.”

If he does leave his money to charity, it’s no surprise that a portion will go to a charity benefiting dogs. The 53-year-old mogul is a long-time supporter of finding homes for stray dogs. He has donated £10,000 to help set up a dog sanctuary in Barbados and £100,000 to another shelter in Toluca Lake, California.

Plus, he’s planning on adopting two pups very soon!
