Jon Stewart Spoofs Miley Cyrus on Daily Show Return

Welcome back, Jon Stewart! The beloved TV host returned on Tuesday, Sept. 3, to The Daily Show stage and his re-entry was a little rocky, to say the least.

Stewart took a three-month hiatus this summer to direct his first feature film, Rosewater, about a journalist's arrest and torture by the Iranian government, and it seems that his experience may have profoundly affected him. The 50-year-old host showed up for his first day of work looking a little worse for the wear -- and speaking in a different language.

"The Middle East has changed him. He's not even acting American. Get him a defibrillator and two Big Macs!" John Oliver, the show's interim host, says to Daily Show correspondent Jessica Williams.




Despite Oliver's efforts to knock some sense into the late-night host, though, he still isn't himself: Stewart instead takes on different personas, from Hitler to Moses to Miley! Yes, just like Miley Cyrus at last week's Video Music Awards, Stewart ends up twerking in a nude-colored leotard with an oversized foam hand.




Eventually, former Daily Show correspondent Stephen Colbert goes in "to break this man."
