Melissa Etheridge and ex-wife, Tammy Lynn Michaels are expected to be in a Los Angeles courtroom on Friday afternoon because the Grammy award winning singer is refusing to allow their six year old twins to be vaccinated.
Since ending their relationship in 2010, after nearly seven years together, the two have been embroiled in a very public, bitter custody battle over their twins, daughter, Johnnie Rose, and son, Miller Steven, with mud slinging and vicious barbs traded back and forth between the pair.
Tammy Lynn’s mega lawyer, Mark Gross, filed legal docs stating that she wants to be the sole parent to make decisions on the twins health issues because Melissa has refused to allow them to be vaccinated.
Sources connected to the case claims that Tammy Lynn wants the kids vaccinated because they are now enrolled in public school in the Los Angeles area. Etheridge, a breast cancer survivor, underwent chemotherapy to fight the disease, “doesn’t believe in vaccinations, period. It’s not a fear of Autisim, she just doesn’t think immunizations are necessary,” the insider revealed. Melissa claims she and Tammy agreed, when they were together, the kids would not get vaccinations and Tammy only changed her mind after they broke up in 2010.
Tammy Lynn Michaels also went to court in July requesting an emergency hearing because Melissa wanted to take them with her on tour. In the docs, she claims "many female fans remove their shirts and bras and throw them on stage".
Further, Tammy is concerned about other people watching the kids while Melissa performs because "there is use of marijuana on the tour bus and in the dressing rooms."
Tammy's request for an emergency hearing was denied and will be addressed at their August court date.
