Ok we'll start with something, you might've heard was a cover
Singer Robert Hazard recorded the song in 1979 from a males POV, it didnt chart well
In 1983 Cyndi came in and changed some of the lyrics & ofcourse it was a smash & one of the first woman empowerment anthems


KELLY CLARKSON - I DO NOT HOOK UP

You might've heard about this one also
Katy Perry partially wrote this song with Kara DioGuardi & Greg Wells for an album of hers that never materialized
Kelly snatched it up, changed some of the lyrics & it was released as the 2nd single of her "All I Ever Wanted" album



BLONDIE - HANGIN ON THE TELEPHONE

One of Blondie's most well known hits was written by Jack Lee for his group "The Nerves" in 1976
Blondie covered & released it in 1978 & it hit number 5 in the UK & US

She recorded the song in part as a tribute to her for helping her get her footing in the biz

Ace of Base snatched it & it was a hit all over the world

JLo needed them sexy street smart hits for her debut, so her label snatched up some club hit by a group called "3rd Party" & covered it basically note for note and it became a worldwide smash


MADONNA - RAY OF LIGHT

Madonna's "Ray of Light" was based off of a song written by Clive Maldoon & Dave Curtiss
For Madonna's version, the instrumental was changed drastically to make it more pop-friendly & ofc is was a hit worldwide
