IT'S ON! Nicki Minaj DISSES Iggy Azalea in Newly-Released Swizz Beatz' Single "Hands Up"
Nicki Minaj, who in the beginning of her mainstream career and criticized by rap legend Lil Kim - is now taking shots at up and coming Australian rapper Iggy Azalea, who is also starting to make some big moves in the music industry having signed a moneymaking deal with Island Def Jam just a few months ago and is already booking tour opening slots with the likes of popstar giants Beyoncé and Katy Perry. Threatened yet?
But it seems like Minaj has been at it for a little longer as she has been gradually and reportedly subtweeting the newcomer Azalea after a 3-year-old tweet was recovered by some of Minaj's fans (really?) where Iggy was apparently hinting Nicki hadn't been rapping 100% live on her 2010 BET Awards performance. Especially when Iggy has praised Minaj continuously and publicly every time she is asked about other female rappers in most of her interviews even declaring she would love to collaborate with the current "rap queen" (here's another fun fact: Iggy raps "Nicki paved the way" in the track "Treasure Island" of her 2011 debut mixtape.)
And that's not all, she also didn't seem to appreciate when Iggy expressed her opinion on Minaj's 2012 critically-panned album "Roman Reloaded" stating she loved it but wished there had been a more subtle transition between the pop tracks and hip-hop tracks when asked about it. Even if it seemed like some peace among top female rappers was finally in the horizon with the arrival of Azalea, seems like Minaj isn't just ready to start sharing the spotlight with any other women.
Now for today's actual report: so Nicki Minaj is featured in Swizz Beatz's brand new track "Hands Up" along with 2 Chainz, Lil Wayne and Rick Ross (listen here). Read Minaj's verse below and see if you also catch the shade towards the newbie rapper Iggy Azalea who is nominated at this Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards for her debut single "Work":
"Ayo pass the crown to the real queen.
You know da girl get it poppin like a pill feen.
I got little bunny rabbits in my backyard.
So fuck a funny style fraud, tryna act hard!
Uhn - you my son, no daddy you a bast-ard.
Plus you got mad miles on ya vag card.
Nah I can't work with none of them
They talk slick then wonder why I be sonning them
I said Bitch I'm a mogul
Yes I am global
I don't do Barnes but yes I am Noble
Every Interview yes, I am their focal (point)
But I don't give a fuck, Boink
Ain't going no where like horses in a stable!
Bitch I'm in da mansion, flossing, click cable.
Now where my bad bitches? Where #PrettyGang
T-T-T-Twerk that ass and let dem titties hang!"
Seems like that collaboration won't be happening anytime soon, Iggy! Let's see if Nicki will also stick to her current word of "no female rappers collab" as no one stays at the top forever in this industry, as Lil Kim and other past female emcees now know very well...
Lmao a mess I didnt even read properly but I've seen other people talking about it so idk if this is a reach or not, all I know is that she better not be coming after Iggy's inspirational queen like that...
