Hughjackmania has debuted these new looks at Hugh Jackman on the set of ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ as the Wolverine. ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ the seventh installment in the ‘X-Men’ film series, commenced filming last month in Montreal, Canada. It will be the first film in the ‘X-Men’ film series to be filmed in 3D.
Director Bryan Singer recently announced that ‘Game of Thrones’ star Peter Dinklage joined the cast of ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past.’ Further reports bring word that the Emmy and Golden Globe Award winning actor will play the main antagonist in the film. With Singer merging past and present ‘X-Men’ actors for ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ the director also announced that Anna Paquin (Rogue), Daniel Cudmore (Colossus), Ellen Page (Kitty Pryde), Halle Berry (Storm) and Shawn Ashmore (Iceman) will be joining the film – which is ostensibly a sequel to ‘X-Men: First Class,’ but will prominently feature actors from the first ‘X-Men’ trilogy.
Additionally, Hugh Jackman will be playing Wolverine again, and Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart are to reprise their roles as Magneto and Professor X, with Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy returning to play younger versions of the same characters in the film. Seeds of a tie-in between the trilogies were sown when Jackman cameoed as Wolverine in ‘X-Men: First Class.’ Jennifer Lawrence, Omar Sy, Fan Bingbing, Booboo Stewart, Adan Canto and Nicholas Hoult have also been confirmed to star.
Bryan Singer launched the’ X-Men’ movie franchise with the first two films, ‘X-Men’ and ‘X2,’ and has been a guiding influence in each subsequent X-Men film by producing. Matthew Vaughn, director of ‘X-Men: First Class,’ will produce ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ with his fellow co-writer on the film, Simon Kinberg, and Lauren Shuler Donner. The screenplay is written by Kinberg, Vaughn, and Jane Goldman, with Singer writing the story. Set to start production shortly for a July 18th, 2014 release date, ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ will be based on a classic comic book story arc that unfolded in two issues of Marvel Comics’ ‘Uncanny X-Men’ in 1981, from writer Chris Claremont and artists John Byrne and Terry Austin.
The story was partially set in an alternate future where surviving mutants have been penned in concentration camps, giant robots called Sentinels patrol America, and most of the X-Men have been hunted and killed. In the present day, the X-Men were forced to stop a key event from unfolding in order to keep that future from occurring. The official synopsis of the ‘Days of Future Past’ comic book story arc can be read below the pics. Source: CBM.
“The storyline alternates between present day, in which the X-Men fight Mystique’s Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and a future timeline caused by the X-Men’s failure to prevent the Brotherhood from assassinating Senator Robert Kelly. In this future universe, Sentinels rule the United States, and mutants live in internment camps. The present-day X-Men are forewarned of the possible future by a future version of their teammate Kitty Pryde, whose mind traveled back in time and possessed her younger self to warn the X-Men. She succeeds in her mission and returns to the future, but despite her success, the future timeline still exists as an alternative timeline rather than as the actual future.”
Not even gonna pretend I'm down for some Logan & Marie adventures!
