Ubisoft Fired Assassin’s Creed Creator

Ubisoft Fired Assassin’s Creed Creator

In a report today, Ubisoft confirmed to Kotaku. Assassin’s Creed creator Patrice Desilets has therefore decided to depart once again. But later in a statement, Desilets told Polygon he was fired and plans to “fight Ubisoft vigorously.” Patrice Désilets previously left from Ubisoft and joined THQ Montreal back in 2011. After having the opportunity to come to Ubisoft long before he knew it, his team was acquired by the company.

“Contrary to any statements made earlier today, this morning I was terminated by Ubisoft,” Desilets said. “I was notified of this termination in person, handed a termination notice and was unceremoniously escorted out of the building by two guards without being able to say goodbye to my team or collect my personal belongings. This was not my decision. Ubisoft’s actions are baseless and without merit. I intend to fight Ubisoft vigorously for my rights, for my team and for my game.”

Desilets was working on a game called 1666. Ubisoft won’t comment on the game, the current fate of 1666 remains unknown.
