Rap News: Ja Rule released from jail; rapper logic releases Welcome to Forever Mixtape

Logic keeps the ball rolling after gracing the cover of our Freshman issue. Today, the Def Jam signee is offering a new of set tracks on Welcome to Forever. He gave us a preview with “Roll Call,” and followed that with a video for “Nasty.” Judging from his past mixtapes, Welcome to Forever will be another fan favorite. The Pro Era Crew member known as Dessy Hinds returns to the scene today with a dope new track for our listening enjoyment. The track is called “P. Enlightenment” and finds Dessy showing off his lyrical ways over top of something extremely silky. “P. Enlightenment” is driven by a smooth vocal sample and set of keys that gets backed up by some dope drum work that Dessy effortlessly does his thing upon. Rapper Ja Rule was released from jail earlier today.

Ja Rule served almost nearly two years in federal prison, but now the rapper is a free man. The rapper was jailed for illegal gun possession and tax evasion. The rapper didn’t pay taxes on $3 million in taxes, according to authorities. RELATED: Hip-Hop Rumors: Ja Rule Is Out Of Jail!!!!!??? Celebrate! The platinum seller is under house arrest until July 28, which is the official date where Ja will be totally free. His wife reportedly picked him up from jail and took him home. Last year, Ja released Pain Is Love 2 while he was still incarcerated.

It sold 3,200 copies in its first week.
