Babyshambles singer Pete Doherty will have an implant fitted to help him kick his drug habit, he told a district judge, Jane McIvor, at Thames magistrates court in east London yesterday.
Doherty, 27, represented himself at the latest review of his treatment programme for crack cocaine and heroin addiction. He had tried to have an implant fitted before but said he wanted to try again.
The judge recommended his drug tests be reduced to once a week.
In April he was sentenced to a community order and 18 months' drug rehabilitation after admitting seven charges of possessing drugs.
I thought he'd already had one? I guess I'm not as up on the Doherty Drama as I should be. That said, the man does so many drugs I'm amazed he isn't immune to their effects already.
