Michelle Williams on the cover of AnOther Magazine + new Oz picture w/ James Franco

Michelle covers AnOther Magazine Spring/Summer 2013,An exclusive film with Michelle will premiere on this Wednesday, this issue is out on February 14.

This spring, Michelle Williams, star of Oz the Great and Powerful, features on the cover of AnOther Magazine and transforms into eight imaginary characters, shot by Willy Vanderperre with styling from Olivier Rizzo.

Inspired by the issue’s theme of There’s No Place Like Home, Williams gives a revealing and candid interview to Nancy Waters in New York, leading us on a journey through her unusual past homes, from childhood onwards. Since her youthful stint in Dawson’s Creek, three-times Oscar-nominated Williams has illuminated the best of independent cinema with leading roles in My Week With Marilyn, Blue Valentine and Brokeback Mountain, securing her position as one of her generation’s most sensitive and subtle actresses. And this March she shines as never before, as Glinda the Good Witch in Sam Raimi’s all-star prequel to the classic film The Wizard of Oz.

A second cover for AnOther Magazine has been unveiled, read what Grazia has to say about the issue :

The first black and white shot sees Ms Williams looking sombre wearing huge earrings, a black ruffled frock and one haughty expression. The other sees her in a more relaxed, childlike pose with her wearing a laid-back pair of ripped jeans with a slouchy grey jumper and bare feet while perched on a wooden stool. And in both, there’s a ladylike pillarbox hat with veil perched a-top her signature pixie crop.

To coincide with AnOther’s in-depth interview with the star in the S/S13 issue, we reveal a filmed interview with Michelle Williams, recorded by Matt Black during her transformatory performance in the AnOther Magazine cover shoot with Willy Vanderperre and Olivier Rizzo. Here, to accompany this very personal video portrait, we lists our favourite quotes by the star…

“I think in some ways you can’t help but stay in character. It’s a shift, it’s slight, it might even be imperceptible to other people, but you feel different all day. But I think when you have a kid, you have a duty to shed that when you come back into your home life, or at least try to.”

“From Blue Valentine I kept my wedding ring. I actually kept it on for a while. After the shooting had stopped, I was still wearing it – I couldn’t quite take it off – and now I keep it above the kitchen sink where I do dishes, as a little memento.”

“I think I do feel at home on a set now. Certain sets. Most sets. There’s a few places, a few settings that I feel at home in. I feel at home in my home. I feel at home in nature. I don’t know…in some ways I feel like maybe that feeling is something I’m still looking for.”
