Jodie Foster caused quite a stir with her emotional speech at the 2013 Golden Globe awards.
The 50-year-old actress ended years of speculation about her sexual orientation when she casually came out of the closet while accepting her Cecil B. Demille award on Sunday night.
In addition to officially confirming that she's gay, the actress -- who has been in showbusiness for 47 years -- also spoke about her changing role in Hollywood, and complained about the lack of privacy today's stars have to deal with -- something she's spoken about at length before.
Foster's impassioned, if not somewhat confusing speech, struck a chord with many stars, both in the audience and at home, who were very moved by her words:
No idea what the hell Jodie Foster just did - but it was brilliant. #goldenglobes— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) January 14, 2013

Jodie Foster at the #GoldenGlobes. Pure Jodie, rightfully defending her privacy while doing it with brains and a smile. She is pure class.— Marlee Matlin (@MarleeMatlin) January 14, 2013
