Quvenzhane Wallis celebrates Oscar Nom with "pizza, chicken and waffles and good stuff."

Quvenzhane Wallis almost missed her historic moment.

Quvenzhane Wallis nearly slept through Oscar history. The young actress had to be awakened especially early just in time to see the Academy Award nominations. But give her a break, she is 9 years old.

"I almost missed it. I was sleeping," says Wallis.

The Beasts of the Southern Wildstar did wake up in time to hear her name announced as the youngest ever best actress nominee.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhh," she yells, mimicking the sound she made when she heard the announcement. "Did I ever (yell)."

"It's exciting, this is special," she says, adding she is going to celebrate with "pizza, chicken and waffles and good stuff."

The young Louisiana gir lhas had a whirlwind 2012 since Beasts became a Sundance Film Festival sensation last January. She was only 5 when she auditioned for the lead role and 6 when she shot the film.

Beasts performed audaciously in the nominations, taking four, including best picture, adapted screenplay and director for Benh Zeitlin.

Wallis wasn't sure what she's going to rock the red carpet with next month.

"I don't know what I am going to wear and I don't know who I am going to take, probably my mom," she says. "We're still figuring that out though."
