A new reality show featuring former Governor Edwin Edwards and his family debuts on A&E for a national audience in February.
The network that introduced the nation to Louisiana's millionaire duck call makers with "Duck Dynasty" green lights another reality show set in the bayou state, this one called "The Governor's Wife."
A&E's website says the series follows former Governor Edwin Edwards, his 34-year old wife, Trina. The network says it has ordered 12 episodes of the series which will premier Wednesday, February 27th at 9:00 p.m. CST.
Trina Edwards confirmed the series was filming in an interview with FOX 8 back in August. But, she declined to provide more details at that time.
The network's description says the series will follow the action as Edwards third wife, who is 50 years his junior works to fit into the governor's family and lifestyle. The series will include Edwin's daughters Anna, 62 and Victoria, who A&E describes as "a hardened 60-year-old ex-showgirl."
Trina Edwards married the former governor in July of 2011 after his release from Federal prison.
I was fortunate enough to meet The Gov last year. He is absolutely precious. He needs a show with President Clinton where they just walk around being suave old men, winking at young ladies.
