She has booked 83 Nights at a top hotel in Central London for the duration of X Factor
Nicole Scherzinger has checked into a London hotel... even though boyfriend Lewis Hamilton has a luxury mansion only half-an-hour’s drive from The X Factor studios.
Nicole, who flew in from her home in the US for the live stages of the ITV1 show, had been expected to stay with the Formula 1 World Champion in Hertfordshire.
But the couple’s relationship has hit problems once again after pictures emerged last week of Nicole, 34, cosying up to R&B singer Chris Brown in a Los Angeles nightclub.
Sources confirmed yesterday that Nicole has booked 83 nights at a top hotel in Central London for the duration of the singing contest.
A source revealed: “We were shocked last week when Nicole told us she intended she check in to an expensive hotel. When the live shows started everyone expected her to move into Lewis’s beautiful, newly-built mansion. It’s only a 35-minute drive from the studios in Wembley.
“The Formula 1 season ends in a November, so Lewis will be in the country and Nicole would not have been there on her own.
“It’s a beautiful hotel, but in traffic it would probably be a longer journey to the studios. Surely if everything in the relationship was as rosy as they are saying it is, she would just stay with Lewis?”
Lewis, 27, who is tax-registered in Monaco where he spends part of the year, is said to have “hit the roof” last week after pictures emerged of Nicole apparently canoodling with Chris. (rme)
That bust-up came just two months after Lewis was caught partying with 10 girls until 5am in a Central London hotel suite.
But Nicole seemed to put an end to rumours of a rift when she appeared on the ITV1 Lorraine show earlier this week, saying: “Me and my lovely man are lovely, that’s what’s going on. Yeah, we’re great.”
Nicole and Lewis, who will move from McLaren to Mercedes next year, first met at the European Music Awards in Munich in November 2007 before going public with their relationship six months later at the Monaco Grand Prix.
The Hawaiian-born singer was by his side as he was crowned world champion in Brazil in 2008. But they started to spend an increasing amount of time apart.
In November 2011 they confirmed they had split up, citing their hectic schedules as the reason, but four months later got back together.
Our source said: “They really wanted to give it one last proper go, but the same old problems just started happening again.
“Nicole was furious with Lewis after he was caught in a hotel suite with 10 girls and he was just as angry with her when she was pictured with Chris Brown.
“There’s no stopping Lewis visiting Nicole at her hotel, of course. But it’s a real surprise that they are not staying together while Nicole is in the UK for an extended stay.”
Nicole took her place alongside fellow judges Louis Walsh, Tulisa Contostavlos and Gary Barlow last night in her live X Factor debut.
Later, on ITV1’s The Jonathan Ross Show, she appeared evasive when asked about her relationship with Lewis.
“Yeah, we’re together,” she said. But when quizzed about the possibility of marriage she said: “I don’t know. You’ll have to ask him.”
