Julianne Moore joins 'Carrie' remake as Margaret White

Now that Kimberly Pierce has found her titular “Carrie” in Chloe Moretz, the new adaptation of the Stephen King horror classic is beginning to find its supporting cast. According to Deadline, MGM has closed its deal with Julianne Moore to play Carrie’s freakishly religious mother and has cast Carrie’s first classmate in British actress/model Gabriella Wilde.

Shooting will take place later this year with Moretz in the role of Carrie White, a painfully shy and unpopular high school student who is relentlessly bullied by her classmates.
