'People need to remember where they came from!' TOWIE's Lucy Mecklenburgh left upset as she's 'banned from Tulisa's FHM party'
It was one of her biggest nights in the showbiz calendar after being named the 67th sexiest woman in the world by FHM on Tuesday.
And Lucy Mecklenburgh was clearly excited about attending the glitzy party following the awards as she took to Twitter ahead of the bash.
But her hopes were dashed when security apparently banned her from entering because winner of the night Tulisa Contostavlos was inside.
It was alleged this morning that the N-Dubz singer's management had given strict instructions to security that they wouldn't allow Tulisa to attend if anyone from The Only Way Is Essex was allowed in.
And as she had topped the poll, organisers were said to be keen to follow orders so they could secure her attendance.
Lucy was even prevented from walking the red carpet and to add insult to injury she was told she could attend the party once Tulisa had decided to call it a night and leave.
A source told the Daily Star: 'She was told if she turned up Tulisa wouldn't be allowed to and they really needed their winner at the event...
Enjoying her night: Organisers were keen for Tulisa to attend as she had topped the poll - and her management reportedly refused to let her go if anyone from TOWIE was allowed in
'It was a massive slap in the face seeing as she had made their list.'
And the snub left Lucy devastated after she'd spent the day getting ready and had even got her outfit for the night out.
She wrote on Twitter ahead of the party: 'So flattered that I'm in #FHM100sexiest in the world !!!! I can't believe it !!! Can't wait for the party tonight!!xx.
'Just got the most beautiful Haute Hippie nude feather dress from @Vanilla_Style ! Can't wait to wear it later #FHM100sexiest.'
But a little while later she wrote how she had been left 'upset' and seemed to take a dig at Tulisa as she wrote: 'People need to remember where they come from !!!!! I'm soo upset.'
And ever the supportive boyfriend, Mario Falcone quickly tried to cheer her up as he gushed: 'Be home soon baby, don't b upset! Love you xxx.'
And he took a swipe at Tulisa for even managing to land the coveted title: 'Do not understand how Tulisa won FHM 100 sexiest women.... Must be a fix!!!'
Tulisa appeared to hit back at the TOWIE crowd on her Twitter today. She said: '@officialtulisa: Past few months I've had about 8 people create a whole scenario of beef with me in their imagination..i barely knew they existed#awkward.'
Organisers were said to be embarrassed about the snub and even told Lucy to 'go to any hotel, stay the night, enjoy room service and FHM would pick up the bill'.
But it was apparently FHM who were responsible for the snub instead, and not Tulisa.
The singer's representative, Simon Jones from Hackford Jones PR, has cleared up the events surrounding Lucy's snub, revealing FHM had said they were putting a ban on TOWIE members but had accidentally still invited some of them.
Supportive boyfriend: Mario Falcone comforted Lucy after her snub and took to Twitter to take a swipe at Tulisa winning the top spot
He told the MailOnline: 'FHM came to me a while ago asking me to invite my clients to their annual party. Their pitch to ensure some of our clients attended was that they were 're-branding' FHM's image and they were enforcing a ban on the TOWIE cast to up the level of celebrity attending.
'I agreed for some of our clients to attend, but I believe there was some mix up by FHM accidentally inviting some TOWIE cast members, who then had to be uninvited.'
And he jokingly added: 'I presume they are now publicising this as they're upset because they found out there was free fake tan in the goody bags!'
Meanwhile, FHM have released their own statement, explaining that they had to turn Lucy away due to the large guest list.
The representative said: 'In line with the ongoing evolution of the FHM brand and our world-famous sub-brand ‘100 Sexiest Women in the World’, a decision was made by FHM to restrict the over-subscribed guestlist to this week’s 100 Sexiest party.
'Regrettably this resulted in Lucy Mecklenburgh not being able to attend the event.'
Tulisa was joined inside by her boyfriend Jack O'Connell, as well as Georgia Salpa, Helen Flanagan and Emily Atack.
And while the TOWIE cast were reportedly banned, they were obviously happy to have stars from rival reality show Made In Chelsea inside as both Millie Mackintosh and Caggie Dunlop were attendees.
Meanwhile, it appears Tulisa's star seems to be on the rise as she's tipped to land the number one with her track Young this weekend.
Poor Lucy, this is a gross injustice.
