Olly Murs confirms he'll definitely be hosting the next series of Xtra Factor.
After Simon Cowell told him to choose between telly and singing, does this announcement mean the end of Olly's singing career?
We reported last week that Simon Cowell (the God of reality talent shows) had told Olly Murs he couldn't present The Xtra Factor and carry on promoting his music. The X Factor runner-up, 27, is launching his solo album internationally in the summer and, depending on how it goes, may have to do some dates in Europe and the US during the audition stage of the next series of The X Factor.
Olly explained, "I really want to do [ Xtra Factor ]but when I asked Simon if I could just do the live shoes, he said 'No, it wouldn't be possible.' "
Last night though, during a performance in Dublin, he announced that he'll definitely be reuniting with Caroline Flack to host the spin-off ITV2 show for the next series.
Apparently he was so happy about this he busted out some particularly energetic dance moves.
Was there ever any doubt he'd go back? The Cowell always gets what he wants. Not sure what this means for his solo album though, but seeing as Simon pretty much owns that entire side of the Olly empire too, we're sure it'll be fine.
And we're happy because this means we get to watch him and Caroline flirt loads again while he makes suggestive comments every time a young boyband member appears. (lol)
