This movie has got me interested in the books! I haven't read them yet, and now I really want to.

I was wandering the school bookstore today and found the first one. (I had no money on me, though, nor the debit card.)

It's definitely worth it! It's an extremely quick read anyway so it's not like you'll be wasting any of your time.

I was reluctant to read them at first, but I finally caved when I saw the kindle version of the series for SUPER cheap. I read all 3 books in 4 days and could not put them down. Definitely worth it!

I read the first book and was too impatient to get the next two that I just downloaded the kindle version and read them each in a day using the free kindle app.

I am actually pretty excited about the movie, and tbh I really didn't like the books. The first one was pretty okay (the actual Games were good; Collins can write action but I think her characterization is awful), but it went fast downhill from there and I really didn't like Katniss or Peeta at all.

The Capitol is great. The tributes, not so much.

from the trailers ive seen, idk, this movie seems sorta low budget when it shouldnt be.

Unfortunately I agree. I don't think their budget was too big though. The profits look good considering how many presale tickets were sold, so I'm hoping they'll splurge for the next few movies.

i feel like the movie is gonna do well though, so they should have gave it a bigger budget :| are the next movies like already contracted to happen? even more a reason for a bigger budget if they are, since that means they already guessed it would be successful too.

So what's this series about? My sister is reading the books, and she isn't the type of person to read a book often, and tells me that it's basically the shit.

Battle Royale + 1984

north america is now panem, it's split into 12 districts. there's this thing called the Hunger Games which requires 2 people ages 12-17/18 idr rn, from each district, to go to the capitol and fight until 1 person wins. we're focused on katniss and her journey of survival and change and etc.

people who never read anything suddenly becoming obsessed with a series (like Twilight) generally leads me to believe the series is complete shit

its a good quick read but nowhere near as groundbreaking and progressively feminist as some bloggers would have you believe

i think the pink is District 1. The Grecian-looking ones.. maybe District 6: Transportation (the wings?). Unless these are all in order of district then just ignore me >_>
