Perfect Prince Michael B. Jordan post!

On-Air Jordan

Michael B. Jordan, the actor with a knack for choosing the best television shows, isn't having his hot streak snapped any time soon

Michael B. Jordan has a knack for picking TV shows. When the now 24-year-old actor was just 15, he was cast on The Wire as the ill-fated drug dealer Wallace. Jordan is still regularly accosted by Wire obsessives screaming, "Where's Wallace?!" He replies, internally anyway, "Okay, okay, I'm right here. Let's let it go." Then, after years of procedural guest spots, a more permanent gig on All My Children (okay, fine, he's not an infallible guarantor of quality TV), and puberty, Jordan landed the part of Vince Howard, QB1, on the huge-hearted Friday Night Lights. In addition to making Jordan into a top gunner at barbecues ("Before I actually went to Texas, I might have thrown a football, like, ten times in my life," he says. "Now I'm the all-time quarterback"), the show scored him his next part. Jason Katims, Friday Night Lights' showrunner, tapped him for the dry-humored (and pigskin-free) family drama Parenthood.

What's next? "Honestly, I want to do films," Jordan says. "I want to make that move from actor to producer, like Will Smith." More immediately, he'll appear in the movie Red Tails, about the Tuskegee Airmen. If Jordan's winning streak continues, maybe one day, not so long from now, when he tells people his name, they'll stop mentioning that other Michael.
