Sam Loco Efe found DEAD
As reported earlier popular Nollywood actor Sam Loco Efe passed away today, Sunday, August 7, 2011. He died in Rapport Hotel, Amakohia, Owerri.
According to Segun Arinze, President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) the story goes that Sam Loco Efe had traveled to Owerri to edit a movie ‘Unknown Prophet‘ which was shot in Port-Harcourt. Efe had directed the movie.
On Saturday, August 6, 2011, the 69-year-old veteran had told his crew to grab some sleep after a long day of work, they were meant to continue the following day. The next day (today), the crew waited for him to continue work but after sometime decided to go wake him up from his hotel room. Upon getting there, they heard no response after repeated knocks on the door. They were forced to open the locked door to gain entry only to find the actor dead.
His death was confirmed by an officer from the Nigerian Police Force and a doctor.
The News was also confirmed by the National Secretary of the AGN, Chuma Onwudiwe who says upon hearing the Efe’s death, he instructed the Financial Secretary of the AGN Cyril Ibe to proceed to Rapport Hotel. He later confirmed Loco’s death.
‘A polyglot, actor extraordinaire, father to many of us, an intellectual man of immense artistic stature, we will miss him greatly. The prayers of all AGN members are with his family at this time‘, Onwudiwe expressed.
We’re told his corpse has since been deposited at Aladinma Mortuary, Owerri.

At a time the story gathered so much momentum that even the actress had to openly deny being the lady in the photograph.

Chinwe Princess Ejere wins the 2011 Elite Model Look Nigeria Competition
As Saturday 3rd of September 2011 drew to a close, there was tension in the air at the Civic Centre in Lagos. The 2011 Elite Model Look Nigeria judges were deliberating their decision, attempting to choose the young model who would represent Nigeria at the 2011 Elite Model Look International competition in China later this year.
This model would join the ranks of Tracy Onyekachukwu, Annette Begg and Chika Emmanuelle who have won previous editions of the Elite Model Look Nigeria competition.
In the end, 17 year old student, Chinwe Princess Ejere was chosen. The striking young model trumped the competition and won the big prize.

D’Banj’s new song Oliver Twist banned in Nigeria
The news about the ban has been around for a while now but Nollywoodgossip wants to confirm it first before writing about it. Yes it’s true, the song Oliver Twist is banned. NBC, the people in charge of what should be aired on Nigerian radios and TVs apparently decided that the song wasn’t family friendly enough, that it has nothing to teach the youth but immorality.
And the song’s producer Don Jazzy commented on the ban, this is what he said: “Tweeps pls worry not about the banning of Oliver o. e dey happen. We’re kinda used to it now. Ijebu garri no dey do advert but e dey sell”

BN Bytes: Kanye West makes a surprise appearance at the Koko Koncert
Last night, the Mo’Hits crew rocked London at the Koko Koncert. With or without any “special guests”, it was definitely an amazing show with performances by the entire Mo’Hits crew – Don Jazzy, D’banj, D’Prince, Wande Coal, Dr. SID, K Switch and guests including Tiwa Savage.
Then, the clanger.
Kanye West who just a few hours before he surfaced at the Koko Koncert performed with Jay-Z at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, hit the stage with D’banj at the Koko Koncert. The crowd went WILD and social media was buzzing as those who missed the concert were sighing in regret.
