Fallon wants 'fans to tweet Emmy intros'

Jimmy Fallon has urged the public to tweet messages to their favourite stars to him, the best of which will be broadcast at this month's Primetime Emmy Awards.

The stand-up comedian, who is hosting the 2010 ceremony on NBC, revealed to The AP that fans will be able to submit suggestions via Twitter for the introductions of up to 15 Emmy presenters, with favourite examples being used to welcome the stars out on stage.

Providing an example of how the social networking experiment would work, Fallon suggested: "@Blahblahblah says Jon Hamm is the hottest guy of all time. Here he is, Jon Hamm."

Fallon simple goal for the Emmy's

Emmy Awards host Jimmy Fallon understands what the emotional temperature of the room will be. And he has Will Arnett to thank for it.

“The truth is, an hour, an hour and a half into it, 80% of the people in the room are losers,” Fallon said.

“And you’re not happy. You’re thinking, ‘I don’t even know if I want to go to the after-party, I can’t believe I got dressed up for this.’ I know that. I’m clear about that fact. I’ve sat there next to people.

“I sat next to Will Arnett last year at the Emmys, and he goes, ‘Look at this loser coming over.’ And it was his wife, Amy Poehler.”

So with that in mind, Fallon feels he has a simple goal as host of the 62nd annual primetime Emmy Awards, which air Sunday on NBC and CTV.

“Personally, as a fan of the Emmys and a fan of awards shows in general, you just want them to move along,” said Fallon, who has been hosting his own show, NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, for a year and a half now.

“You just want to keep it fast and tight. So we all have the same goal in mind, even the people in the crowd.”

As he has proven on his own show, Fallon prefers to play with celebrities, getting them to do and say goofy things, rather than blasting them. He plans to adopt that same mind-set for the Emmys, although it means he’ll have to wing it more than he does on Late Night.

Jimmy Fallon's GTJ Emmy Prep: Gym, Tan, Jokes

Come Sunday night, Jimmy Fallon will mark his debut as a first-time Emmy host – and that pressure has pushed him into full-on prep mode.

"[I'm doing] 100 push ups every day. Then I meet up with The Situation. We have a crunch off," the late night host joked Monday at the Going the Distance premiere in Hollywood.

He acknowledges he probably wouldn't be able to beat Jersey Shore star, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, but Fallon's goal before the big ceremony is simply to "look fit."

"I can't be out of breath," Fallon, 35, told PEOPLE, adding that he's also hoping to achieve that Hollywood glow.

"I've just been waking up every day, having breakfast by the pool. I try to get tan," he says about getting ready. "But I'm Irish so I burn bright red – lobster red. But then it becomes a nice cinnamon toast color."

But beauty regimen and looks aside, Fallon isn't sweating the actual hosting duties. "It's a big gig, but I host for a living now. I'm more looking forward to doing it. You get to see all of your favorite stars in the same room. It's fun," he says.

On the agenda for the ceremony? "Fun, class. I want to keep it fast," says Fallon. "I want everyone to have a good time."
