Marge Simpson vs Lois Griffin

Family Guy Lois Griffin May Be Jealous of Marge Simpson

Marge Simpson may have landed a popular magazine gig, but some say Lois Griffin should have been considered for the job instead. This might make for some hot-tempered cartoon rivalry for future publications.

Lois Griffin vs Marge Simpson

The controversial decision to give Marge Simpson the adult magazine cover is hot stuff. If you don't think so, check out what's going on at Twitter. Twitter is going crazy right now over Marge Simpson's news, and not all of it is good. Although there are plenty of happy Simpsonites, there are also a lot of negative feelings over the poor choice of cartoon characters. Many Tweeters are saying Family Guy's Lois Griffin should have gotten the centerfold, others claim Jessica Rabbit is better looking than Lois Griffin. I'm sure there are plenty of animated bombshells that could have been chosen, but for whatever reason, Marge Simpson will be gracing the front cover of this magaine in the November issue.

Why a Cartoon Character?

The Chicago-based magazine hired Scott Flanders as new CEO back in June. He's in the business of changing things and making money for the publication. The Marge Simpson centerfold is "obviously somewhat tongue-in-cheek," Flanders said in an interview Thursday. "It had never been done, and we thought it would be kind of hip, cool and unusual. The idea is to attract readers in their 20s -- an appealing demographic compared with the average publication reader's age of 35," Flanders said.

The Chicago Tribune commented, "If that's the mission, then why not feature "Family Guy's" way hotter Lois?"

I wonder what Julie Kavner and Alex Borstein think about all this?
