CHARITY POETRY ALBUM
The poetry is backed by music and voiced by acclaimed actors also including Samantha Morton, Lindsay Duncan and Geoffrey Palmer.
Morton reads Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy's sombre but uplifting poem The Last Post, inspired by the plight of soldiers in the First World War, to Gymnopedie No.3 by Satie. Lumley, the Gurkhas' champion, will be heard reading William Shakespeare's Sonnet 18, which will be backed by Beethoven's Piano Sonata No 8.
A proportion of proceeds for the album, titled Words For You, will go to children's charity I Can, which helps youngsters develop their speech.
Honor Blackman, Brian Cox, Martin Shaw, Miriam Margolyes, Anthony Head and Ben Whishaw are also taking part.
Ted Cockle, co-president of Island Records, a division of Universal Music Group, said: ''The potential scope and appeal of this album is incredible.
''The quality of each element, composer, poet and voice has given us an album that could potentially get the poems of Shakespeare and Lord Tennyson into the UK album charts.
''We have made poetry pop - something rap artists have been doing for years.'' [OP note:LMFAO]
Universal records will release the album on November 16.

He's, most of you know, Keats in the new-ish film BRIGHT STAR. Which if you havent seen yet, please run out and do! He's brilliant in it and I'm not just saying that because I would gladly bear his children.
DISCLAIMER: I DONT ACTUALLY GIVE A DAMN WHETHER BEN WHISHAW IS GAY OR NOT, OR BI OR A VAMPIRE UNICORN (BUT WTF THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!). I JUST FIND THE CONSTANT DISCUSSION AND SLEUTHING AND FAN IN-FIGHTING TO BE HILARIOUS.
