The new Sugababes line-up featuring Jade Ewen (taking the placed of ousted member Keisha Buchanan) has released its new video for "About a Girl" - the RedOne produced 2nd single taken from their upcoming album "Sweet 7." The album will be released in the UK in November.
So basically, the singers were supposed to be doing their own stunts in this "Kill Bill"-esque video. However, behind the scenes drama (Buchanan's exit) forced them to shoot the video on very short notice. As a result, you only see the band members dancing, with actresses/stunt women now portraying the heroines. Also keep in mind that this band isn't known for its dancing, so this "style" is relatively new for it.
Keep an eye on these girls! They were recently signed to Jay Z's Roc Nation label and are thinking about trying to break the US.
What do you think? Personally, I'm underwhelmed. Buchanan was the heart and soul of the band for me, and it's weird not seeing her here. However, the group worked with some really good producers on this album, including Stargate, Ne-Yo, and the Smeezingtons, so we'll have to see what happens!
