Rap-Up have confirmed that Mariah Carey will release an official remix album for her latest effort Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel, with producer Tricky Stewart spilling the beans on the top secret project.
“There’s gonna be remixes to everything,” says Tricky. “I’m actually doing some remixing myself currently ’cause some of these records were so much fun to make. It’s easy to go in and do a remix.”
Tricky also revealed that he’s currently working on the official remix to Mariah’s latest single “I Want to Know What Love Is”, which is currently struggling on the Billboard charts at #75 after dropping nine places from last weeks peak of #66.
I’mma raise the tempo up.” says Tricky of the song. “I’mma try to make it into something else.”
“Once I get the beat and if it calls for the right person, I can get anybody on the phone I want to right now, so I will be using my Rolodex for that.”
Not many other specific details about the tracks are known yet, but Trey Songz has been confirmed as appearing on the official remix to “Inseparable”.
It’s also believed that the remix album will contain the unreleased tracks that didn’t make the final cut for Memoirs, including Mariah’s songs with Timbaland and Jermaine Dupri. This news was revealed by Mariah herself during a recent interview with MTV.
