After starring in a billion dollar franchise such as "The Lord of the Rings" and thereby becoming recognizable around the world as the iconic Frodo Baggins, you'd assume some of the earnestness and genuine friendliness would wear off an actor like Elijah Wood.
That's hardly the case.
At only 28-years-old, Wood has a stellar resume that also includes such notable films as "Sin City," "Happy Feet," "The Ice Storm" and "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," but he's been somewhat quiet the last few years. With the release of the CG-animated post-apocalyptic action flick "9" he's back in the public eye and just as nice a guy as ever.
As the title voice in "9," Wood is the centerpiece of a tale that finds the hope of the planet contained within the souls of a few rag like dolls. You can read Drew McWeeny's spot-on review here, but Wood and his co-stars Jennifer Connelly, John C. Reilly and Christopher Plummer certainly aren't at fault for any of the picture's shortcomings.
Speaking to Wood last month, he shared his thought on "9" as well as his most common interaction with "LOTR" fans -- an all too common occurrence that displays just how patient and kind a guy he really is. Check out the interview embedded in the page to the left.
"9" is now playing nationwide.
I'm a computer at work w/ no sound, so IDK what he says, but I love him and miss the LotR cast BFFery so very much. 9 has a 62% on Rotten Tomatoes ATM; what do we think?
