The two-hour finale of American Idol's eighth season is wrapping up as we speak, and someone has just been crowned the winner.

So, after nearly 100 million votes, who outlasted the rest? Was it Adam Lambert, the 27-year-old fearless and ferocious piece of perfection from San Diego, California; or Kris Allen, the 23-year-old from Conway, Arkansas?

Highlights of tonight's show:

-- The Top 13 performed "So What."

-- David Cook performed "Permanent."

-- Norman Gentle won the Golden Idol Award for Outstanding Male.

-- Lil Rounds and Queen Latifah performed "Cue the Rain."

-- The Top 13 and Jason Mraz performed "I'm Yours."

-- Kris Allen and Keith Urban performed "Kiss a Girl."

-- The female members of the Top 13 performed "Glamorous," followed by a performance with Fergie of "Big Girls Don't Cry," followed by a performance of "Boom Boom Pow" by the Black Eyed Peas.

-- Katrina Darrell ("Bikini Girl") won the Golden Idol Award for Best Attitude. She then performed a duet of "Vision of Love" with Kara DioGuardi.

-- Allison Iraheta and Cyndi Lauper performed "Time After Time."

-- Danny Gokey performed "Hello," followed by duets with Lionel Richie of "Just Go" and "All Night Long."

-- Adam Lambert <3 performed "Beth," followed by performances with Kiss of "Detroit Rock City" and "Rock and Roll All Nite."

-- The Top 13, accompanied by Carlos Santana on guitar, performed "Smooth."

-- The final Ford music video of the season aired. (Thank God.)

-- David Cook presented Adam Lambert and Kris Allen with 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrids.

-- Megan Joy, Michael Sarver and Steve Martin performed "Pretty Flowers." So random.

-- The male members of the Top 13 performed "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy," followed by a performance with Rod Stewart of "Maggie May."

-- Tatiana Del Toro won the Golden Idol Award for Outstanding Female. She then performed an a capella version of "Saving All My Love for You" before being escorted off the stage.

-- Adam Lambert and Kris Allen performed a duet of "We Are The Champions" with Queen and a choir.
