Helen Mirren will get to cast her eye over Dominic Cooper in the National Theatre's production of Racine's Phaedre in June.
NT artistic chief Nicholas Hytner will direct the Oscar-winning Mirren in the title role, with Dominic as her stepson Hippolytus - the object of Phaedre's illicit desire.
Margaret Tyzack also stars as the nurse Oenone. Ms Tyzack is one of the contenders for best actress in this year's Evening Standard Theatre Awards for her performance in The Chalk Garden, which ran for too short a season at the Donmar.
Her fellow leading lady in that show, Penelope Wilton, is also nominated, as are Lesley Manville (Her Naked Skin), Helen McCrory (Rosmersholm), Phoebe Nicholls (Waste) and Lesley Sharp (Harper Regan).
Dominic was a hit at the National in The History Boys - and reprised the role on screen. He's also the ingenue male lead in Mamma Mia! - The Movie, which is still rolling in mega-money at the box office.
