The Broadway revival of “Guys and Dolls,” Frank Loesser, Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows’s indelible musical (adapted from Damon Runyon’s short stories) about crap games, salvation and — yes — the guys who only do it for some dolls, announced one of its male leads and its theater on Wednesday. The show, to be directed by Des McAnuff (“Jersey Boys”), will star Oliver Platt, who has appeared in the television series “Huff” and “The West Wing,” as the incorrigible gambler Nathan Detroit. It will begin previews on Feb. 3 at the Nederlander Theater, at 208 West 41st Street, and open March 1.

Blah, I was really hoping that G&D would take the Neil Simon since Hairspray announced closing leaving HAIR to take the Nederlander. Oh well.
