the (presumed) cover of The Promise's single release has been put on Girls Aloud's myspace:

and a press-release that mentions the b-side to The Promise

‘The Promise’ is a Sixties-influenced pop gem given a contemporary Girls Aloud twist. Produced by Brian Higgins and Xenomania the song is about strong independent women who eventually relent and fall for the man they told themselves wasn’t right.

‘The Promise’ is taken from Girls Aloud’s forthcoming as-yet-untitled album due on November 3rd. The album will be the group’s fifth studio set and the follow up to last-years ‘Tangled Up’ album.

“We went back into the studio earlier this year and were probably the most excited we’ve ever been as we had just come off our biggest tour,” says Nicola Roberts. “We have always tried to experiment with different styles and ideas as it keeps us excited and keeps the fans guessing what we’re going to do next.”

‘The Promise’ is Girls Aloud’s 18th single release. Over the last six years Girls Aloud have had more top ten singles than any other girl group in the history of music. Their tally of 17 top 10 singles out of 17 releases has seen Girls Aloud beat the likes of The Supremes, The Spice Girls and Destiny’s Child into the record books.
